There’s something extra magical about weddings that happen in June. The sunlight, the energy, the newness of summer. Birdi & Colton’s day was no exception. Held at the stunning Veseli Venue, their wedding was filled with meaningful details, joyful moments, and a celebration that was truly them from start to finish.
We had the absolute honor of walking alongside Birdi & Colton throughout the planning process, from the early design meetings to final walk-throughs, and then bringing it all together on the big day. Our team at Heartland Gatherings handled full-service wedding planning, day-of coordination, and all of the event design elements, including:

The Planning Process
From our very first meeting with Birdi & Colton, we knew this wedding was going to be something special. At Heartland Gatherings, we had the incredible honor of handling every detail in-house, from the custom design mockups to the full planning and production. We built out a detailed vision board and layout plan, helping Birdi & Colton see exactly how their day would unfold, from color palettes and floral placement to guest flow and vendor timing.
With a grand guest list and beautiful Veseli's intimate footprint, we carefully designed a layout that maximized every inch of usable space:
We planned for an outdoor ceremony under a large canopy tent with string lights to keep guests cool and comfortable in the summer heat.
The reception area was split between the indoor reception area and a tented outdoor space. We worked with our amazing DJ vendor, DJing by Travis, to ensure music and sound flowed through both spaces.
We coordinated all parking, vendor setup, and transitions throughout the day to ensure everything ran smoothly.
Every element, from the tablescaping to the drapery wall, was created, styled, and installed by our team. It was such an honor to bring their vision to life from the ground up, and even more rewarding to see it all come together exactly as planned.
The Venue (Omaha Wedding in Springfield, NE)
When we first sat down with Birdi and Colton to start dreaming up their wedding day, one thing was clear: they wanted an outdoor celebration that felt dreamy, romantic, and magical - something that would let them dance under the stars with their favorite people.
As part of our initial planning process, we curated a list of three venue options that aligned with their vision. Veseli was one of them, and truthfully, it was our favorite from the start to bring this vision to life! We had just discovered Veseli's Instagram and were immediately drawn in by the venue’s charm and beautifully designed spaces.
When we showed Veseli to B+C, there was just no denying this was the perfect venue! The romantic setting, the cozy yet elevated feel, the way the space just feels like a tucked-away fairytale - it checked every single box, and it was the perfect match for the moody, romantic aesthetic they were dreaming of.
Veseli is such a gem of a venue. Every inch of the property is intentional, from the warm, welcoming indoor space to the lush landscaping that seem to come alive at golden hour. It’s effortlessly beautiful without needing a ton of extra decor, which gave us the freedom to focus on meaningful, thoughtful design details that complemented the space rather than compete with it.
And working with Gina, Veseli's owner? An absolute dream. She’s not only insanely talented but also kind, communicative, and deeply passionate about creating an amazing experience for her couples. That kind of vendor partnership makes all the difference on wedding day.
Of course, with an intimate space like Veseli, we had to be thoughtful about the guest count and parking logistics — but that’s exactly why they brought us in. We love working with creative venues and finding thoughtful ways to make everything run smoothly without sacrificing the magic.

THE CEREMONY
Guests arrived at the stunning Veseli Venue, and they were greeted by a beautiful custom A-Frame sign we created with our Cricut machine to bring the couple's design inspo to life!
With a June outdoor wedding in Omaha, Nebraska, a tent was a must! The guests flowed down the beautiful walkway to the patio reception area to take their seats under the canopy, awaiting the ceremony. The aisles were adorned with floating candles, every tentpole was adorned with soft draping, and the cherry on top was the stunning wedding arbor!
The Wedding Arbor
We installed the wedding arbor and flowing drapery, and Zach (brother of the groom, officiant, and incredible florist from Stems Floral!) installed the most beautiful garland and florals we have ever seen. So beautiful in fact that we stopped what we were doing multiple times just to watch his magic in action! haha
Arbor Adventure: We drove 3.5 hours round trip to pick up this Arbor we found FB Marketplace for Birdi & Colton's big day! We gave her a fresh coat of stain, and she was as good as new!
COCKTAIL HOUR
Immediately following the bride and groom's ceremony kiss, Mariachi Zapata started playing and walking down the pathway to the patio. The vibes were just < insert chef's kiss here > !!

Mariachi Zapata continued to play while guests enjoyed Pat on Tap and appetizers provided by the couple's family! The band was INCREDIBLE. Everyone raved about them!
Pat on Tap
What’s better than an open bar? A vintage mobile bar truck, named Inez! Inez, the newest member of Pat on Tap's fleet, kept guests refreshed while Mariachi Zapata serenaded the crowd with vibrant, joyful music. It was a total highlight of the evening and brought so much energy to the start of the celebration.
Pat on Tap had three selections to choose from: Coors Light, Modelo, and Glacier Till Cider! The couple also brought in Horchata and Jamaica along with champagne for every table. We busted out our Cricut machine to make the custom tap labels because we OBSESS over every tiny detail.
Pat on Tap Fun Fact:Â Every member of Pat on Tap's fleet is named after the Abby's (Pat on Tap's Owner/Founder) grandmothers! And yes, we did tear up when she told us this!

Rental City & DIEHL Rentals
Rentals from Rental City helped us create flow and functionality, with cocktail tables, extra seating, and the reception tent providing a beautiful and comfortable layout.
During cocktail hour, we quickly turned the ceremony area into the outdoor reception area. We pulled in four outdoor guest tables under the tent, moved all ceremony chairs to their reception spots, and brought down the beautiful lounge furniture from DIEHL Event Rentals for guests to lounge on and take photos.
The Mariachi Band continued to play through the entrance of the Bridal Party and this officially kicked off the reception!

Following the Bridal Party entrance, we transitioned right into the reception!
Taco Truck Dinner
Dinner was anything but traditional in the best way! Guests lined up for mouthwatering birria tacos, rice, beans and churros from Javi’s Taco Truck, creating a fun and relaxed vibe that perfectly reflected the couple.
Dancing into the Night
Once the sun dipped behind the trees, DJing by Travis kept the dance floor full and the energy high. Between the music, the lighting, and the people, the evening felt like the perfect celebration of Birdi & Colton’s love story.
Stunning Florals
Can we please talk about the florals again?! Zach, the groom’s brother, officiant, and the mastermind behind the stunning florals (go see him at Stems Floral Omaha!). He absolutely knocked it out of the park! The arrangements were lush, vibrant, and perfectly captured the couple’s vision, adding so much life and magic to the day. Every bloom was thoughtfully placed from the tables with our rented bud vase collection, to the wedding arbor and A-frame sign, creating a stunning floral backdrop for the entire wedding that made the whole celebration feel even more unforgettable. Huge kudos to Zach for bringing such artistry and heart to the florals!
Mini Cakes at Every Table
Instead of a single wedding cake, Birdi & Colton chose something unique and unforgettable. Sweet Magnolias crafted 11 individual mini cakes, each placed on a guest table and the sweetheart table as edible centerpieces. Every cake featured stunning, delicate piping and came in a variety of delicious flavors. It was a sweet surprise for guests, beautifully styled and effortlessly shareable. The attention to detail in each mini cake made dessert feel both personal and elevated.
Special Touches from the Couple
Birdi and Colton included so many special touches for their day, including a deck of cards for their guest book, a photo wall with snapshots of them and their guests, handwritten notes for every guest in attendance, and a bottle of champagne for every table!

Birdi & Colton are the kind of couple you don’t forget. Gracious, deeply in love, and a joy to work with. Their style was effortless, their priorities were clear (good food, good music, and a good time), and they trusted us to create something that felt like home. We are endlessly grateful they chose us to bring their wedding vision to life.
